Many thanks to our Fundraising Team for coordinating MCC San Jose’s Spring 2009 Raffle. Tickets were $20 each with three fabulous prizes:
- First prize: the winner’s choice of either A) a Samsung 40″ Touch of Color™ 1080P LCD HDTV valued at $1,000, or B) $1,000.
- Second prize: a gift basket from Macy’s cosmetics, valued at $200.
- Third prize: a pair of tickets to the FC Gold Pride professional women’s soccer game on Sunday, July 19, 2009, at Buckshaw Stadium at Santa Clara University, valued at $100.

During the month of March, MCCSJ’s Coming Out Support Group will be having a special Lenten series focusing on the spiritual aspects of coming out. Topics in the series will include:
- If God Loves the World, Why Not Me?
- The Spirit and the Eunuch
- A Perspective On The Liberation of the Christ
- Questions and Answers from the Group
The month will conclude with the movie night, “We Are All Angels,” an in depth look into the lives of two lovers, Jason and DeMarco. The film will cover the joys and struggles of their coming out, falling in love, and how all this has affected their music and their career. Read more »
Please join us for a marriage equality rally at MCC San Jose from 6:30pm to 7:30pm on Thursday, February 12.
Update: due to the possibility of rain, the rally has been moved to MCC San Jose in downtown San Jose. This will be an indoor event. This event was originally planned for the county building, but we have moved it due to the weather forecast.
This rally is co-sponsored by Marriage Equality Silicon Valley, Marriage Equality USA, BayMEC, the Council of Churches of Santa Clara County, and the Metropolitan Community Church of San Jose.

This year’s series is “The Yin and Yang of Becoming” and we have an incredible set of speakers who will take us farther than we’ve ever gone before! We’ll also have talk-back sessions after our services on February 8 and February 15, and a community potluck after our service on February 22. All are welcome!

Jon Mundy Ph.D., is an author, lecturer and, as Dr. Baba Jon Mundane, a standup philosopher comedian. He’s been teaching university courses in Philosophy and Religion since 1967. He is the publisher of Miracles magazine, the author of eight books, and senior minister emeritus of Interfaith Fellowship with services in Cami Hall across from Carnegie Hall in New York City.
Tickets for this event are $15 in advance, $20 at the door. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Please join us this Saturday, November 15 for the “Join the Impact” Rally at San Jose’s City Hall. We’ll be gathering at MCC at 9:45am, and then walking over to City Hall for the rally at 10:30am. City Hall is located at 200 East Santa Clara Street (not far from the church).
If you’d like to help prepare for the rally, Craig Persons will be at MCC from 1:00pm to 10:00pm on Friday, November 14 making signs and banners for the rally. He welcomes helpers – no prior experience is necessary. Please call the church office at (408) 279-2711 if you’d like more information.
Please note: our Coming Out Support Group will be meeting this Friday evening at 7:30pm in the church as usual. The banner folks will be using the sanctuary while the Coming Out Support Group meets in the church office.
